In this paper, Jihad Yazigi analyses the consequences of three main new challenges for the Syrian economy and the population at large: the Lebanon crisis, the enactment of the Caesar Act and now the coronavirus pandemic.He estimates that the economy's bleak prospects will only worsen in the coming months and that Syria's population will remain heavily dependent on the international humanitarian effort.
